Pengaruh Peradaban Islam Dalam MSS1292 Kitab TIBB*

Abstract

MSS1292 Kitab Tibb is a manuscript kept in the Malay Manuscript
Centre at the National Library of Malaysia. The whole of its contents are
related to the medicinal elements or, more specifically, about the
healthcare ways of the Malays. This article is written to present the
aspects of Islamic culture in the said manuscript. Using the textual
content analysis, we find that the manuscript is full of the influence of
Islamic culture. This includes the use of wafak (diagrams with letters,
numerals or verses) the use of expressions, chants and rulings which
show the existence of Islamic elements, the use of Qur'anic verses,
Sunnah, doa. (supplicatory prayers) and sayings of the Sahabah
(Companions) as well as of the ulama (Islamic scholars).
